VADO acquires Dutch Thermal Engineering
VADO acquires Dutch Thermal Engineering
VADO Beheer has further expanded its portfolio of technology companies with the acquisition of Gaanderen-based Dutch Thermal Engineering (DTE). DTE specialises in developing and producing customer-specific installations and solutions in the field of industrial temperature control. For instance, DTE supplies very robust (stainless steel) and low-maintenance cooling and heating equipment for critical processes in, amongst others, Food, Semicon and Medical. With a global supply of its industrial cooling, heating and tempering equipment to machine builders in various industries, DTE is a leading player in its field.
VADO is a long-term investor and focuses on promising companies in the manufacturing industry. Its portfolio companies are particularly active in the high-tech & semicon, food & pharma, automotive & (intra)logistics and energy & energy transition market segments. Together, these VADO companies have a wide range of competences to support customers integrally at a high level. With the acquisition of DTE, VADO expands its activities in those relevant market segments and DTE’s high-quality expertise in modular engineering further expands its total service package.
For Aart Fortanier, CEO of VADO, DTE is a very good fit for VADO. “We have known each other for quite some time, as several of our portfolio companies have been working with DTE for some time. So we took this next step. DTE is a healthy company with strong engineering and manufacturing capabilities, and it operates in the same growth markets as many of our other portfolio companies. This provides great opportunities for further cooperation and expansion of the integrated services we offer our customers.
Martin Bril, managing director of DTE, sees many benefits in cooperation with VADO: “We have experienced strong and healthy growth in recent years. I am pleased that, with VADO, we have found an investor that fits us perfectly in terms of culture and vision of business. With this, we have found a reliable and financially strong partner for the further growth we have in mind with DTE”.
Frank Geerdink, former DGA of DTE, is also pleased with the acquisition by VADO: “When selling your company, you want to give it a good new ‘home’. We handled that process very carefully and are pleased to have found the ideal investor with VADO”.
